Welcome to the Würzburg site

The Würzburg site is a competence center for basecoats in the worldwide network of BASF's Coatings division.

Color lends a car individuality and accentuates its design. For nearly 50 years, we have manufactured basecoats in Würzburg in a wide range of colors for the automotive industry. Our years of experience, the quality and sustainability of our products and the capacity to implement customer-specific requests have made us the leader in our field.

We already developed the waterborne basecoat technology in Würzburg back in the mid-1980s. Instead of using solvents, we thin our products with water. Our waterborne basecoats stand out because they are sustainable without compromising quality or application properties.
