Oxsilan®

Oxsilan® is an eco-friendly and multi-metal pretreatment solution. The innovative thin-film technology is used for the pretreatment of car bodies, the automotive component industry as well as the appliance and construction industries. It is a state-of-the-art nickel-free alternative to the conventional zinc-phosphating process. The technology offers a high level of corrosion protection and optimal coating pretreatment with lower process costs.

Integrated Process II

We continuously work to optimize coating processes. One example is the Integrated Process II. With this technology, a waterborne basecoat system consisting of two individual components additionally assumes all functions of the primer. This allows a complete coating step to be eliminated, including the baking process, without negatively impacting the final color or the properties of the coating. The Integrated Process II reduces CO2 emissions by up to 20 percent.

PrimeCube® 

PrimeCube® is a new technology of BASF’s Coatings division for coating truck cabins. It combines an ultra high-solid primer, “Prime Block”, with an ultra high-solid topcoat, “ColorPrime”, which are applied wet on wet. Therefore, the primer oven can be skipped leading to significant energy savings. The wet on wet application also enables the production to apply both materials with a single robot. Overall, this lean process is a perfect match with the box concept and allows for a highly flexible production with less investments.
